INTRO

Hello! I’m Yawen, a visual storyteller and illustrator originally from a small seaside city in China. I excel at using vivid colors to articulate complex emotions and weighty themes—inviting the viewer to feel the tension between brightness and depth, and to see what I see, what I care about. I want viewers to realize that beauty often conceals irony and cruelty beneath its surface. I hope they feel a moment of “Wow... but wait.” when they encounter my work.

My practice integrates digital illustration with Risograph and other printmaking methods, bridging digital and physical realms. I aspire for her work to resonate across multiple dimensions—visually, emotionally, and materially.

In my long-form projects, I prefers a monochrome or limited color palette, weaving fragments of reality into emotionally resonant, open-ended narratives. My stories explore themes of human connection, the environment, and quiet transformation. I seek to create stories that don’t end abruptly but instead leave space—inviting the viewer to pause, linger in silence, and reflect. Meanwhile, for short comics, I love injecting my quirky, sparkling ideas—unfiltered and unexpected.

来自中国南方的95后插画师，擅长用明亮的颜色，以有机肌理打破线条几何的绝对性，试图在理性框架中留存感性的呼吸间隙。尽管我主要使用电子板绘作为主要创作手段，但希望能够通过多种印刷技术使我的作品具备多维度的可能性和可探索性。我坚信创作的本质是视觉化对混沌宇宙的理解和人间百态的观察，我的系列作品最终指向一个质朴的邀请：在获取情绪价值和视觉享受的同时，请记得带走一个未经包装的思考，也许是对生活的感悟，也许是对自我的认同。
